Primary Tracking RFID Services

RFID Printing, Labeling, Application Service

Two Ways to Get RFID Labels

Now there are two ways you can get RFID labels for Wal-Mart compliance or your own corporate project. You can purchase blank Alien RFID Tags from us and encode them yourself – OR – let Primary Tracking do the work for you!

Let us print your RFID labels

Not ready to invest in RFID equipment and you need RFID labels now? Here's a simple solution for you. We can print any image in black, including graphics, bar codes, etc. We will encode the RFID chip with your data and verify that the data is correctly coded before it's shipped. All you have to do is apply the label to your individual items, cartons or pallets and ship it! And if you would like, we can even apply these labels for you – either on a conveyor or by hand.

RFID Physical Architecture Consulting

Primary Tracking’s RFID system design and physical architecture services define the customer's RFID computing infrastructure and develops a plan for site installation, network layout and deployment. Our service offering includes:

ü      RFID hardware evaluation service

ü      RFID tagging strategy service

ü      Site assessment service

ü      RFID network design service

ü      RFID network installation & testing service

RFID Hardware Discovery Service

Selection of appropriate RFID technology is a challenge in itself because of vast differences between the readers. Reader vendors have also been releasing newer versions of their products to address changing standards & new applications. We offer Alien Hardware and Tags, integrated with Primary Tracking Software Modules to meet your system requirements and then to evaluate the specific Alien (and other vendors) RFID readers, printers, label applicator systems and tags that meet those requirements. We use our experience, from our industry-leading RFID Lab and Warehouse, with industry leading hardware to evaluate and benchmark these devices against your application requirements, cost, footprint, scalability; backward compatibility and future upgrade requirements. We document our recommendations, test results, costs and risks for your implementation.

RFID Tagging Strategy

There is no "one size fits all" solution to every RFID installation scenario because of the number of material, packaging, environmental and application variables that can affect the working and hence selection of tags. For example, metals and liquids pose challenges that need consultation from good RFID engineers to help solve it.

In addition, different kinds of tags are available depending on the specific need, and of course with different prices. Read/write tags cost more than read-only tags, but they can have information added to them in their transit affixed to pallets, cartons or items.

We help you develop an overall tagging strategy for your products that includes tag placements and packaging layout that will provide optimum read/write accuracy. We test tag placement scenarios on your products in our lab and document our recommendations with tag costing model and its application scenarios.

Site Assessment Service

Every environment where RFID is to be installed can be expected to be different from an RF or wireless perspective. Potential interference from wireless networks, short-range radios, and so forth can scale down the RFID system performance. Sources of this interference can be behind walls, around corners, or otherwise hidden. Also, some environments impose mechanical and/or chemical considerations on RFID engineering that need to be addressed. Will there be vibration? What's the potential for normal operations to damage the equipment?

Conducting a site survey is a prudent practice to help understand customer requirements for an RFID installation in the context of the facilities where it's to be deployed; it's an indispensable activity to gather the information needed to define the deployment requirements; and to predict the performance of the RFID solutions to those requirements. Primary Tracking/ Alien-trained field technicians go on site to determine the optimal number, read/write location and type of RF access points and other qualified network components required to provide optimal RF coverage in your facility.

RFID Network Design Service

Primary Tracking will work with you to produce the best of breed RFID network infrastructure blueprint. Our service includes review of your existing network environment including the current annualized network infrastructure cost. We will discuss with you the business requirements, and will then define the new RFID network hardware configuration, software application portfolio, PC LAN services configuration, network layout, implementation cost plus the necessary customization to meet those specific requirements.

RFID Lab Service

Primary Tracking has a state-of-the-art RFID lab and Warehouse that is used to simulate development and deployment scenarios, system testing and staging. Our customers use this service to accelerate their RFID application deployments. We also offer lab services where we build custom RFID applications and run experiments to simulate your warehouse environment. From Manufacturing, distribution, to retailing, Primary Tracking can help you integrate RFIDs into your total system including RFID packaging, GPS connectivity for tracking, and video surveillance for security of high dollar items.

Installation Service

We offer RFID installation services where various installation scenarios are used on site to study the behaviors of the RFID hardware. These studies result in identifying the number of readers to be placed for a given process and the location, which may be best for Read/Write accuracy and reliability.

Antennas mountings are optimized to take advantage of the reflective properties of the site and fine tuned for maximum performance. Our field technicians understand FCC part 15 requirements to ensure cable optimization, wiring and placement requirements.

RFID Warehouse Management
We have a 30,000 sq ft warehouse that is available to help you immediately comply with Wal-Mart and other large Retailers’ standards for RFID compliancy. We have a complete facility to help you unload, smart tag, store, pick, stage, and reload your shipments. And if you would like, we could arrange to have a qualified transportation company pick up your shipment and deliver it to anywhere in North America.
